So you're thinking about joining, but don't know what you can do to make it go a little bit easier? Well read on and find out!
Being the new guy can be intimidating.
This statement is largely true to those that are quiet around new folks and not always sure what to say, but want to be engaging in conversation. Don't try so hard to fit in right away, everyone in the coalition has their inside jokes, personality traits and other things that make them unique. But one thing we all share, is that we wanted to be part of this community and we love seeing it grow and become more and more active. What does this mean? This means, we want you to be part of us if you want to be part of coalition. Everyone may or may not say "Hi" to you when we first meet you, but that doesn't mean we aren't excited to see you in the server. Don't be afraid to engage someone and just tell them that you are happy to be here, you like what you found on the website, etc. Remember, you chose us and by that you have our attention.
Making a good first impression
It's no secret that everyone appreciates a well mannered person, and one of the first things people will see is your reaction to situations and responses to things like duels and so forth. It's become accustomed that most people will throw in a "good luck" or "good fight" before and after duels, which is by no means required but it doesn't go unnoticed. Simple replies that like go a long way, even if its just a bind because it lets the person know that you are being respectful and in turn your first impression will be looked at with a higher sense of good vibes. There's an old saying that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease", and that can be very true, so don't be afraid to be communicative during duels and anything else. Try to avoid any laming and following the rules in all areas, and if you do make a mistake -- apologize for it. Typing out "my fault" or "im sorry" is welcomed when someone is accidently flipped/side kicked or lamed.
Be yourself
This may be the biggest piece of advice I can give you. Be true to who you are and don't be afraid to be yourself. We recognize that not everyone is going to be the same as everyone else, and with that -- we welcome originality. Don't try and hide behind a persona that you think will come across more acceptable than who you are, because in the long run it won't. This guild has stood a test of time and there are a few members who have been around for 5 years and older, so we hope you will be with us for the long haul and we want to know who YOU are as a person.
Learning the forums
The forums are an important part of being in the clan. It's where we keep all our information and communicate the most. We vote on our applicants here and keep all the valuable information. Take your time to get to know the forums and the wiki and you might learn a little more about the coalition
Stay Active/Let us know about upcoming events in your life
While under the Application process we want to continue to see you in the server and also on the forums. If there comes a time in your life when you need to step away for a fair amount of time (anything exceeding a few days), feel free to let us know via PMs. We want to know if you need to take a break!
I hope you found this helpful and informative, if you have any questions, please ask us.
